Still in Japan. James again (again!)!
Still having a lot of fun here in Otaru. Made a lot of friends at the university, and I hang out with them pretty regularly now. Went to karaoke the other day; Japanese karaoke is much better than American karaoke; instead of singing in a bar with a bunch of random strangers, you rent out a small room with you and a bunch of friends, and sing together. You can make calls on the room's phone to have beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and food brought to you. This is great, because everyone is a lot more likely to act stupid when only their friends are around. Karaoke was the most fun I've had in a long time!
I'm also studying Japanese much harder now. I want to be able to carry out basic conversations before I leave this country. My host Motoko-san was helping me a lot at first, but she got very lazy very quickly. I'll have to bribe her with more beer. =)
Still painting, too, though I still don't have the hang of it. Practice, practice, practice! Heading out this weekend to watch Yosakoi in Sapporo with some friends from the university. Apparently it's a lot of fun. People dress is happi, and dance through the streets, I guess. I'll find out in a few days!
So, yeah! Still having a lot of fun here. I'll be coming back as soon as possible, hahah!
